Zakres obowiązków:

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the vessel in maintaining all equipment in the best possible technical condition;
  • Supervision over vessels’ technical documentation, documents issued or approved by Classification Societies and Administration;
  • Cooperation with the Classification Society and Administration's inspection authorities;
  • Supervision of maintenance of the vessel and its equipment in proper technical condition, conducting technical checks, and ensuring that the crew diligently performs their duties related to the ship’s operation;
  • Carrying out vessel inspections;
  • Preparing inspection’s reports and monitoring the crew's implementation of the report's Assisting the crew in addressing these deficiencies by providing technical advice and supplying the necessary resources required to rectify the problems;
  • Being in constant readiness to advise crews on various issues especially related to the engine room and machinery, in the event of minor or major breakdowns. Advising on the actions to be taken.
  • Preparation of vessel’s repair specification especially related to the engine room and machinery;
  • Supervision of works during the shipyard period including work carried out by shipyard workers and external companies. Ensuring the work is done properly, overseeing its quality, and making sure it is completed within the agreed timeframe and quotation.
  • Employment of subcontractors rendering repair and maintenance services especially related to the engine room and machinery;
  • Preparing and processing orders for subcontractors and suppliers in the company system Marad;
  • Supervision of technical orders especially related to the engine room and machinery;
  • Supporting the purchasing department with technical orders (choosing the appropriate parts and materials).
  • In crisis situations, working together with the Purchasing Department to organize spare parts or supplies that are difficult to obtain but can restore the vessel to normal operation.
  • Analyzing offers collected by Purchasing Department and selecting the best prices for specific
  • Assisting management in the accounting of repair costs
  • Implementing the company’s program Marad on vessels in the areas of Maintenance and Creating and implementing a Planned Maintenance System on fleet vessels, including specific intervals and work descriptions. Developing an inventory for individual vessels and standardizing the program to meet the fleet's needs.
  • Supervising all records regarding vessels’ technical condition and
  • Supervising masters’ and chief engineers’
  • Ongoing cooperation with the Master and Chief Engineer of the vessel in the matters concerning to the engine room and machinery;
  • Reporting on the technical condition of vessels and preparing documents required for Management;
  • Incident analysis by determining the nature and causes of serious breakdowns and damages, providing reports, findings, and solutions.
  • Risk management to ensure ship operations adhere to safety standards and minimize or eliminate potential accident risks.
  • Conducting internal appraisals of officers, providing insights for the future regarding the performance of the personnel and their potential re-employment.
  • Consulting with manufacturers for specialist advice and guidance on technical issues and for troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Proposing and implementing improvements in various areas, standardizing products that can streamline workflow processes, and increase efficiency and performance.
  • Building relationships with companies such as technical service providers and suppliers of various parts, who can be relied upon in crisis or urgent situations. Ensuring these relationships are maintained at a high standard. Promoting and maintaining a good reputation for our Company
  • Continuous self-improvement by reading manuals, guides, and circulars, considering that the crew is not always prepared to handle all problems.

    Requirements:
  • Maritime experience in the position of Chief Engineer or Service Engineer
  • Experience as a Superintendent will be an additional advantage
  • Knowledge and experience in marine repairs and vessel maintenance
  • Availability for business trips for inspections, supervision of overhauls
  • Negotiation and very good communication skills
  • Proficiency in English, allowing for effective
  • Strong command of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Attention to detail, diligence, analytical thinking, and problem-solving
  • Ability to work in a team and good organization of own
  • Willingness to travel for
  • Category B driving
